We are The 5UP Group, a Creative Studio offering website design services.
In the audit stage, We'll start with an in-depth questionnaire. The questions allow us to get to know your brand in your own words, company voice, and goals. It gives us ideas on how to proceed with your design, letting us know your visual styles. We'll ask about sites you like, sites you don't, and your ideal customers. Once we have that back, we will sit down and discuss the results and assist you in any way we can.
What do you want your website to do? What do you want on your site, what features and functions will be there? What kind of content do you want to put out there? What are your marketing goals? Don't worry; we won't ask for your SSN or anything, we promise! I want to get to know you and your goals.
Part of the questionnaire is about your customers, how well do you know them? We'll dig deeper into it to help identify what kind of content would interest your customers. What is their demographic data, and what will get them to engage?
Do you know who your competitors are? How you stack up against them? You should. We'll research their websites to see what content is resonating with their audience, how effective their keywords are, and what they are doing online. We'll then design a website that will help give you an advantage in design, usability, and SEO.
When the audit is complete, and we have information on you and your competitors, we can then dive into putting together your website's building blocks.
The first step in building the site after the audit stage is developing the sitemap. This is the backbone of your navigation and incredibly important in the next steps of the process.
This sheet is a brand guideline for your website. This step is helpful because we create a map of the colors, fonts, and accents we will use in the site design. Some items that show up on the style sheet include headline and paragraph font styles, colors and size, navigation styles, buttons (size, shape, and color), and imagery to use.
This step is the blueprint of your website, Putting the fundamental ideas into a design so that you understand the positioning of significant items and flow from page to page.
The website development stage is where the website is pulled together. We take all the information from the previous stages and steps to build your site. By the time we get to this stage, you should have a pretty good idea of what the site will look like. This is the time when you will be able to click through the pages and see a functional website.
This is by far the longest stage in the design process. Most of the work for the site is done at this stage. It is where the page layout, custom graphics, icons, images, and all responsive coding are pulled together to make the site work across devices.
This is a critical stage, it is where the site is prepared to transition to a live environment, and we make sure nothing was left out or overlooked.
With so many browsers, operating systems, devices, screen sizes, and resolutions, there will always be something that might be a bit off. This is where we catch those differences. It isn’t always possible to catch everything, but we do the best possible.
With a new site launch, making sure the URLs are mapped to the correct location and submitting to the major search engines is completed in this step. We will also set up Google Analytics and install the tracking code for you.
Once the site is complete and launched, what is next? With our custom-designed sites, we will assist with maintenance and hosting for the first year and beyond if needed. This maintenance service is included in the custom-designed websites or can be added to the template site structure.
